Title kind of says it all. I have tired and tried to luen just the simple up and down commands for the newer electric screens from Da-Lite. The TSU7000 learns this one clean code wrong again and again. It has no effect on the screen. This was the down code now that I think about it. After an hour of testing I managed to get it to learn the up command. I took a look at the code in view edit and it was a mess. Not sure what part of it actually tripped the screen.

Basically... does anyone have the codes for the new dalite screen motors? Just the basic Up and Down. Not looking for the masking commands or anything like that. This really held me up at an install.

Sometimes when you have a difficult code to teach to a pronto, you have to hold the teaching remote at a angle from the learning remote instead of straight on. Don't know why but it works. There have been some remotes that I have had to point away from the learning remote for the inital IR burst and then quickly turn it back to catch the tail end of the burst to get a useful code.

I think the IR output level is too high. If this is a Somfy remote, it may put out simply humongous amounts of IR, confusing your Pronto and therefore teaching the wrong code.

I once did a system with Roman Shades with Somfy motors, and the Somfy remote actually put out enough IR to blow an LED that was in series with two other LEDs on the output of a Niles IRP6+ IR box.

Holding a remote at an angle is a way of reducing the signal strength going into the Pronto, supporting this idea. Oh yeah, I once taught a Sony DSS receiver's remote commands to a Lexicon 500T, and the 500T had to be angled away from the DSS for the commands to work! Somehow I was able to get the 500T to output a lower signal, and it worked fine.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

If you're using a Somfy remote, which most Dalite screens use, Try these codes:

UP:
0000 006C 0000 0015 0003 1EFD 0001 00BE 0004 00BE 0005 00BE 0005 00BE 0005
00BE 0005 00BE 0005 0118 0005 08C2 0005 0118 0005 0118 0005 00BE 0005 00BE
0005 00BE 0005 00BE 0005 00BE 0005 00BE 0005 00BE 0005 00BE 0005 0118 0005
08C2

DOWN:
0000 006A 0004 000C 0004 00C1 0005 011E 0005 011E 0005 08F2 0005 011E 0005
00C1 0005 00C1 0005 00C1 0005 00C1 0005 00C1 0005 00C1 0005 00C1 0005 00C1
0005 011E 0005 011E 0005 08F2

The only quirk I've noticed is that you have to hold the UP button for 1 - 3 seconds before the screen will react.

I once shot THROUGH my polarized sunglasses, off a granite counter top, and got perfect results...

I came about this solution completely by accident, after spending two hours cussing and screaming, cuase I couldn't get the codes to take reliably!

no problems with that system since!

Thanks for the help everyone will try them out tomorrow. Not too jazzed about the idea of a press and hold situation. Atleast I have a figthing chance now.
