Impaqt,
Sorry by light switch, I meant really turning on and off, effecting the amp, or preamp on the same circuit..in the same room..I should have elaborated more..I have not had dimmer swith problems..or interference at all..Like I said I always think I might and am cautious of it but never have..

Nevr had it happen. Closest thing was hearing a hum from a nearby light on a rear channel speaker. We pulled the rack and noticed a wire grounded against the rack where it shouldn't have been. We moved the wire and it went away.

Oh yeah... We have systems installed on a ridge with broadcast towers almost in the backyards.

We've had FM & TV stations play directly into speakers with *nothing* connected to the other end... no amp, no nothing... just wire.

Also have Preamps/Receivers in these systems that will play FM and/or TV audio on various inputs, with nothing but AC and speakers connected.

Powered Subwoofers seem particularly susceptible, with line *or* speakers level inputs.

Combinations of artful wire arranging to minimize the "antenna" effect, trial & error equipment & cable grounding, ferrite filters, and shielded cables work fairly well. Have not seen a definitive correlation between higher quality ($) equipment and rejection/immunity.

Thanx for the bandwidth.

Larry, you crack me up! I wish I had thought of that postscript!

Isn't it wonderful when you run across someone who actually understands what you are talking about, or better yet, can answer question and make suggestions? When I was learning from a mentor back in corporate days, I had no clue how much I would miss saying something technical and having it understood. I guess that is why I like this site so much.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.
