I need some help. I have a rear projection Hitachi about 6 years old 45UX ultravision TV and I need to get the descrete IR commands for the on and off, I currently use RTI and Pronto. Please advice. I have tried some but still doesn't work. Thank you all.

THat TV does NOT support discrete On and OFF. Toggle Power Only.

Well, if your using the RTI in the system, you can use a Video Sync sensor on the TV.

WIth the Pronto... No way to make sure.

With the pronto remote, you can create a screen with a prompt asking if the TV is On or OFF and send the power command or skip depending if you are powering Up or turning the system off. You could also get the Hitachi CMP402 plasma and get control and a great picture ;)
I may be schizophrenic, but at least I have each other.
