I need to control a JVC D-VHS deck without a flasher - they put the eye under the flip-down door.

The JLIP port on the back can be adapted to RS-232, but I can only find a schematic, not a finished adapter. So my question is:

1. Does anyone know where to find a JLIP to RS232 adapter, OR

2. Can I contract anyone to build one for me using the schematic shown at [Link: xoomer.virgilio.it]

thanks,

Doug,

I feel your pain. You can remove the case on this unit and install the emitter inside the unit. I have done this, took about 15 minutes. There is enough room to mount the emitter and still allow the factory remote to work through the 'window'.
Hope this helps.

Yeah, I was hoping to avoid that. This was going to be the first system I've done without using any IR flashing at all. Felt good.

Maybe next time.
