Small bar situation (100 seat). would like HD if possible, but ED ok. Budget of $3k for proj. Low priced screen? All input appreciated but would prefer units you have installed yourself in similar situations. OK guys, let'er rip. thanks in advance.

sony vplhs-20 THIS IS A GREAT PROJECTOR FOR AROUND $3K. Actual retail is something like $3499. I have installed many of these projectors in homes and a couple of bars, and nursing homes. one big negative is the $500 replacement bulb. And the bulb will need to be replaced probally i less the a year in a bar situation.

I own the VPL-HS10 and love it. The picture quality to price ratio is great. I had an occasional problem where the lamp would not light... but was easily fixed by resetting power. I hope the HS20 fixes that issue. Have owned it for well over a year w/o having to change the lamp, but am not using it as heavily as a bar would. Do need to control the light a little bit, and makes nice, but not perfect black.

Hi. In a bar situation I would go with a NEC LT260k which has a 4x3 chip (XGA) but throws a nice 16x9 image and is a bright projector. For the money it's hard to beat.
