Hi All,

I want to control my Sanyo PLV-Z700 from laptop.

For this purpose I got a RS232 cable to connect projector to PC and downloaded commands list from Sanyo's website. I'm sending commands from HyperTerminal.

The issue is that projector reacts to my commands only when it is ON. When it is in Stand-by mode it does not react to my commands anyhow.

Could you please advice what to do? I need to be able to turn on the projector from the laptop.

Tks.

Regards, Sunny

PLV-Z700 has no RS-232 or network control... Something's wrong in your story...

the sanyo website shows an rs232 document.  it doesn't have a standard db9 connection on it, so i am assuming the svideo looking service port is the connection for rs232.

the only thing I would suggest, is that you look in the menu settings for anything related to power saving and disable it.

Sorry to stick about it, but here [Link: sanyo.com]
there is no mention of any RS-232 option at all...

But if there is really such an option, then i would like to know how to use it! LOL!

2Duct Tape:

Now it fully works. In menu I found an item "Service Port". As soon as I put it to "On" the projector begins to switch on from the stand by.

Thank you!
