Does anyone know how I can get more than four DSS receivers to run off one HD dish?

ECHO, the SW64 (6 in, 4 out) will only feed 4 receivers.
As far as I know, I beleive the maximum number of receivers that Dish Net will support is 4 without duplicating dishes. Although it's been a while since I've done a Dish Network system, and there may be something out there now to circumvent this dilema.

Now as far as DTV, we regularly use Spaun multi-switches to feed all the receivers in the system. The multi-switches that ship with the oval dish are junk, and consistantly fail. We do a lot of 5 and 6 receiver systems, and we've never had to go back to service the Spaun pieces.

Hope this helps,

JJP

It is possible with Dish!

It just takes a bit of patience. First you need very high quality splitters, that are rated to 2 G-hz, and only pass the DC on one side. Then you must match exactly the Ports on the SW-64 switch, i.e. each split signal goes to matching ports 1A, 1A; 1B, 1B etc. then from the out- on the 64 to each of up-to 8 receivers ( I guess you can go to more switches and add 4 more receivers for each SW-64 that you add.)

The kicker to all this is that Dish only allows 6 (at least last I heard) receivers per account. Which means that with rec. #7 you have to open another account with the same address and start paying the entire subscription rate, not just the $5 per rec.

If you have the space and the $$$ You can use the Pro-Head-End type of equipment and then run each into a separate SW-64 Blonder-Tounger makes 2x16 Multiswitches, for Hotel cable systems and the like.

HEY JOHN,

I am glad you have had good luck with Spaun. My friend does hi end home theatre and stopped using them due to failures. Believe it or not he has had much better luck with Eagle Aspen and I don't have to tell you the difference in price. I just bought a new 8way 22khz JVI Trunkline and I am very impressed with it as well as the price. I agree with you also on the non powered outside units that come with the dish.
