I personally have had only good success with the CCRANE JUSTICE AM antenna. Mind you that with AM you have to use seperate antenna's for each receiver. These are a good solution , but unfortunately you have to tune a dial every time you change the channel. This will drive most customers nuts! I have not found any AM solution as far as antenna's are concerned that will integrate nicely with any kind of system.
These antennas do get very good reception. Last year I had a run on customers who primarily listened to AM radio. I live kind of in the sticks. Although slightly awkward for the end user this has turned out to be the best solution.
Just some food for thought.

What about good FM reception, do any of you run antennas into the attic or do you use stand alone amplified antennas in the AV cabinet? We have been running them in the attic, but are thinking of trying an ampified unit hidden inside the cabinet to reduce labor cost of attic installation, any recommendations?

Dolfan,

Doing a search on "AM" followed by recpetion or antenna within this site will yield probably 6 other threads in the last year. Same with FM...

But, here ya go, this is all we use, and have had no returns for reception issues!

The TERK antenna mentioned above is produced BY C.Crane, using ALL C. Crane technology, then re-badged...

good luck!

This is an awesome product. I started in electronics years ago listening to AM stations at a distance, and I wish I had had one of these. It doesn't even have to be connected to the radio! It can be tuned (as TJG55 says, adjusted) to make the desired station come in better or another station reduced in volume.

Its drawbacks for integrators are the drawbacks of a system made for push-button users: the antenna has to be retuned for best reception for each station you change to, and it needs to be re-oriented, i.e. rotated, for the best results.

It's still awesome.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.
