I figured I'd post this in this forum to ry and get as many quick views as possible. I'm on a project and having issues with a couple pieces of gear and IR codes.

I know how to drop hex INTO CCP and drag to a button, but does anybody know how to copy HEX out of CCP?  Is it even possible?

Thank you in advance if anyone knows the answer to this question.  I'm trying to do it this way b/c the HEX codes I have don't seem to be working and I know the codes in CCP for this particular device do.

I've have looked to try to do this before and I don't believe it is possible. Hopefully someone on this forum will pleasantly surprise me and show me to be misguided :)

I just got off the phone with URC Tech Support and they say there's no way of doing what I need to.
Seems like such a simple thing, but theres no way to view a code in HEX.  I'm told the software is not designed to do that.
URC - If you're listening and truly care about the CI , please release an update that will let us accomplish this.  It can't be a difficult thing to do, could it?

Thank you and hope everybody has a very Merry Christmas and a Happy, Healthy, prosperous New Year!!!!!!!

Really, why would they do this? I see no purpose for this unless you are trying to get the code from their database in order to put the code into some other control system. That would be of no advantage to Universal.

OK, i get your point and hadn't thought of it that way.  I personally use URC remotes incorporated into my whole house a/v systems.  Some rooms get touchpanels or keypads, some rooms get remotes or a combination of both.  Thats what brought this whole thing up for me and made me think about the useful feature of being able to pull out codes that i've verified are working.
Good point though.

buy the cheapest URC remote and use it to blast out the codes you need into some other learning device.

Attn. URC!!
I also feel that there should be no reason whatsoever that you cannot 'see' any Hex codes that you enter via Universal Browser.

Exactly on both counts, mark!

This is really rather simple, but, as always, you have to have the correct gear to do this.

A. Extract by converting the button push to a series of pulses, which are then emitted as infrared
B. Sense the pulses
C. Convert to an encoded representation of those pulses, and store the resulting representation. For best universality, use the Pronto Hex protocol.

The equipment for A is the URC remote. The equipment for B is my refurbed Pronto TS1000. That and a laptop accomplish C.

I have carried a refurbed Pronto TS1000 with me for years as a learning tool. It hasn't failed yet.

It is far easier to copy hex out of pronto (which is free to everyone) or RTI, Pretty much everything you need is already out there so I would not worry to much about finding the codes you need

I had some issues with the RTI software, but i did delete it and reinstall it while on site to do what i need to.  Haven't used it in so long, I forget a lot of the tricks with the program.

I know of no direct way to do this, but if you teach the code to an early Pronto type remote, you can see the code in the editor. I carry a TS1000 for such purposes but the Marsntz RC5200 is even better for this. Editing software for each is on this site.

How about confining this discussion to the other thread? It's maddening to have essentially one discussion going in two threads.

As an example of how crazy-making that can be, imagine that this thread has fallen to the second page of thread listings, but I had not posted the URL of the other thread, to give you a clue of where to look. How the heck are you going to find it?
