I just installed a NEC 50XM3/A Plasma. Any image that i put up on the Plasma will still be visable even after I turn the Image off. I know that this will usually happed if one picture is left on for a long period but it is happening here from images that are only on for about 10 seconds. I will turn on my dvd player and it takes me to a startup page. I turn off the DVD player and there is still an trace of the startup screen. I talked to NEC and they said that there have not been any complaints. Has anyone else noticed this problem on the 50XM3/A or should I get it repaired. Thanks for any help

What you describe should be immposible. Is the "Burn" going away after a while or can you see it if you display a White field.

I have seen what you are describing on every pioneer I have put in. The Pioneer Plasmas are of course dressed up NEC's with good video proccessors, but the panel is the same.
If you turn on the plasma with no picture on it, then enter the setup menu, and exit it, you will see a faint image of the setup menu. I am not an expert on plasma, but I have seen this on every one I have ever installed pioneer told me it has to do with the way the pixels are 'fired' or 'excited'. Often times the refreshing of a pixel will not take place until that pixel is fired (or excited) again even if it is only a small signal. So what you see is a leftover that will go away as soon as another picture comes along, and there really isn't any reason to worry much about that since the setup menus are really the only thing causing it. The customer will never experience it while watching video.
I hope that was at all helpful.
