Hey guys, I was just wondering if it would be worth mine and my employers time and money to have me learn lutron programming. I already do the ViA progamming to control the HWI systems, but is there any advantage to programming that system also?

I would say it depends how many Lutron keypads your using in a HWI system. You can do some cool stuff with the HWI controlling Elan using serial commands. I've been doing Elan Via for years, and I'm actually leaving tomorrow for HWI training. Definitely worth it for us.

So far we have been using the ViA Valet to replace ...save the user a few steps to the wall... lighting and security keypads. But what i want to know is it profitable to offer HWI systems design and programming as part of our systems. Or should we just leave it to the electrical contractor.

Leave nothing to the electrician...aquire as many scopes on any given job possible...lighting control, automated blinds, seats in a home theater...etc. Become the whole solution provider.
