Seeing that pic made me think of this...

...when mounting a projector to the ceiling just isn't an option. :-)

He should have used a taller piece of wood! This would have allowed for mounting that awesome center channel speaker right above the plasma.

Can someone explain to me why they mounted the plasma to this thing in the firstplace? What was the point? Why not just have it sit on the piece of furniture?

You're assuming they paid for the TV and that it came with a stand.
I'll assume they couldn't find matching stain. : )

Besides it wasn't wall mounted because they probably would have or had bolted the pocket door open.

I am ALMOST impressed by the creativity of that TV mounting device. You just know they saw one of those AV cabinets with the flat panel mount in Wal Mart and thought "hey, I could make that sucker!"

Well, it rhymed with sucker, but sucker isn't the word they used.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

Actually it looks like would be pretty strong. If only the wood was painted and the wiring a little (a lot) neater...

I drove by this dish install this morning and had to take a picture. Sorry for the quality. They can trim the trees and watch TV at the same time.
