Hi, thanks a lot for that information. Your post and the link provided to OnkyoUSA were a lifesaver!!
I was experiencing the same issue with the network card but also had a more serious problem. The audio stopped working all along!! I didn't have any audio no matter what channel I tried to use. I went to the link you provided and after checking my serial number, my receiver is affected by the failed chipset and Onkyo is aware of these problems. They offered a free repair or a $125 rebate towards the purchase of a new unit. I chose to have mine repaired and they quickly processed my order to have an empty box delivered by FedEx for me to ship my unit back at them. All shipping costs are covered by Onkyo!
Note that my unit is a TX-NR708 which by 2016 is 5+ years old but Onkyo, aware of these issues is offering free repairs to all units affected by the Texas Instruments chipsets until 2018! So, my advice... if you're experiencing any issues with your network connection or audio (sometimes even video output can be affected) don't wait and get your unit repaired at no cost by Onkyo now!
So thanks again! This post saved me!
