There are discrete codes posted that are for Panasonic TV's, does anyone know if they will work on the LCD's? I know that sharp Lcd's have Discrete codes but I don't want to deal with the huge power packs that come with there Lcd's. Thanks for any help.

As of a couple months ago I tried this on the 50" Rear Projection LCD and it did not work.

I was able to do the common "workaround" for the input selection by pressing ch^ and then the TV/VIDEO(I think that is what its called) button to the right input. It worked in a pinch.

No workaround for the on/off that I know of.

The best way I have found to program around not having power discretes is to have an all ON and all OFF button.

After they turn everything, on the next page should be your sources: DVD, VCR, SAT etc. This is where you would have discretes and workarounds for inputs and anything else like surround mode etc.

This way seems to minimize user error by shortening the time of the macro.

All the Panasonic LCDs / Plasma televisions (not monitors) I have tried recently do not respond to the discrete codes.

The other problem I have found with macros (this might just be here in the uk as we use SCARTs) is that if the tv is on a certain input and the user presses a button to switch it onto the same input then it changes to a different format i.e. if the input is composite then pressing the button again (correct colour at the bottom of the screen) turns it to S video and becomes black and white.

I did a couple of twenty inch LCD monitors (customer supplied so I don't know the model numbers)a few weeks ago and the discrete on off for the panascramic tubes worked fine. This was recent and they were brand new.

Are these codes the same discrete codes that work on Most Panasonics? If not do you still have those codes saved?
