I'd like a decent disc for SACD demo. I don't want rock, prefer classical or mellow (not thumpy) jazz.

Tough order? What do you guys use?

Thanks!

Great! Does it bring out the format well?

yep.. the mix is well done, some instruments are more defined than others in certain speakers... it sounds like you're on the center of the stage.

Many SACD's are 2 channel- most of the old ones, like one from The Who and one from the Stones are 2 channel only... They're not good demo discs at all...

I also use Floyd's "Dark Side of teh Moon"... the beginning of "Time", with all the clocks, will rattle your bones if you're not ready for it... heh

tom,

check here

[Link: sonymusic.com]

it's kinda the definitive site to locate the format, since sony pioneered it!

the bruno walter Thaichovsky stuff, as well as Isaac Stern are both pretty awesome...

I have to say when it comes to SACD, HDCD, or DVD-Audio formats, regardless of which format you prefer, when you listen to them, in stereo AND multi-channel on well calibrated systems with great gear, they are ALL phenonmenal experiences!
