Hi, just found this forum and it seems like there's a lot of good info here. I have 2 B&K CT610s driving audio and IR control throughout my house. All of my equipment is centrally located controlled by Xantech IR receivers and B&K and MX700 remotes. I'm in the process of finishing my lower level and want to install 3 identical TVs over my bar and haven't figured out how to control these individually. I have 4 Hughes Sat receivers that I can control individually by using the settings in the receivers but I'm not sure how to make it work with the TVs. If anyone has suggestions I would really appreciate it. Also, since I have not acquired the TVs yet does anyone know if any TVs are made that have the same type of settings setup as the Hughes receivers have.

Use a Xantech Router. The RT-8 allows 8 devices; the RT-16 allows 16.

Xantech.com for info.

Fred, thanks for the quick response. Took a quick peek at Xantech and it looks like I also need the RC68+ to program it. I assume I would then be able to learn the codes into the MX700 so I can stick with one type of remote.

Curious if anyone else knows of a way the CT610 can handle this without introducing additional equipment.

Are the TV's going to be close enough toeach other to cause a problem? Seems to me unless its all on one wall (Like a media Room situation) there wouldn't be a problem. Espcially if they are indeed in separate rooms. Just program the MX-700's up normally. The TV's certainly are not in the Rack I'm assuming. and there really isnt a reason to control them Via the 610's

Impaqt, yes they will be above my back bar and be within inches of each other. You are correct I do not need to control them via the 610's, I just happen to use the 610's to control everything else.

I have had good luck with the Xantech RT-8 as well. I also programed a Pronto 6000) with the codes for the RC68+. If you go that route I can get you the codes.

If you install for a living you might just want to buy the remote though.

Roddy, I don't have a Pronto but appreciate the offer. I see that the MX700 database has the RT-8 in it so maybe I can get away without the RC68+.

I don't install for a living but really enjoy this stuff. This is my 3rd house I've done and keep getting a little more advanced each time. Started out with few rooms, the next house I had a great whole house setup but only 1 zone. Plus my only IR control was PowerMids. It's been a lot of fun with our current house because it was a custom and I got to get in early and wire it to the max. This time we have 12 zones of audio, IR control, and video distribution to 24 locations. I really enjoy learning more but also realize there's people out there that have probably forgotten more than I'll ever know.

The B&K does not have any sort of IR routing built in. It's about the only thing that beast does not have.....

Simple slution would be to get a MX-800 for the Bar TV's. the RMRF-200 has Routing built in

Impaqt, I didn't realize this was a feature of the MX-800. It sounds like the way to go. Thanks for the input.

If the bar is to be a zone, and you have 3 unused inuts on the 610 the 3 identical tv's could be controled by the 610.
The following is from the B&K manuel:

Up To Nine Identical Global Sources.
When the source is selected in a zone, the IR commands are routed ONLY to the corresponding IR emitter, thus allowing identical components such as the satellite recievers shown to be freely selected from any zone. Thus, users can watch satellite in any zone without disturbing any other user by selecting their dedicated satellite receiver from the keypad or remote control in each room.

IMPORTANT NOTE: IR Emitters must be plugged into the jack with the number matching the INPUT (as silk
screened onto the rear panel). Thus Input #4 is controlled with IR Out #4.

jwalkup, you are correct as I did see that in the manual, however I can't afford to give up 3 inputs just for the sake of control. I think I'm going to go the route that Impaqt suggested. I need to buy a couple remotes for the basement and would have gone with the MX-700 to be consistent with the rest of the house. By getting an MX-800 instead it doesn't add much and will still have the same look and feel as the MX-700 (important for my wife).

uhm i actually think the b&k has ir routing. just run cat-5 to each tv and splice on an emitter. if you want to control them with a remote, upgrade to a mx-800 and turn off all the ir from the remote. Just use the radio frequency. if you cannot run wires to each tv for an emitter, then use 3 seperate mrf-200's. one mounted on each tv. just set the addresses in the software.

islandlife, I thought I would only need to use 1 mrf-200. From what I can tell from the manual there are 6 flasher outputs from the mrf-200 and each can be set to a unique address. If I'm understanding this incorrectly I would definitely appreciate any additional input you have.

Folks.... Your forgetting thatthe TV's are OUTPUTS. Not Inputs.... B&K Has no IR Routing for the Outputs.... (Nobody does.........)

The IR Routing tracks the 9 INPUTS of the 610... So you could run 9 identical Sources if need be.....
