Polarity reversed.  It happens.

A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

when you said monster, i thought you were talking about Monster Mini Golf.  Because I associate the word "Monster" with mini golf.    Monster should sue them.

I wonder if that $250 cable snake was made in China... I know it's parts probably were.

There are plenty made right here in the US, and I am going to go out on a limb and say that the Switchcraft and Neutrik ends on the handmade ones are superior to the terminations that Monster would use.

Either way, it's horrible to market a 'premium' product such as this without having any QC testing at all.

In a few decades of audio and video work, I've seen lotsa cables.

I've not seen another brand that fits so tight that it pulls the RCA connector off the pc board of the unit, like some Monster RCAs do.

I've not seen another brand of optic cable where the connectors come apart without much prompting.

And it's the high priced spread.
There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions.
