Ditto McNasty, There were a couple of little trees, but that is all it takes with the new little 3 lnb dishes.

I have the same symptoms on a system on Killington in VT. I didn't site it myself, but it doesn't look like there's much to obstruct it at all, even with a mountain under the dish's view. there are a couple trees where they look to be under the signal path. what's the elevation of sat B?

Sometimes even with a perfectly good signal certain transponders will read "0" I have found this to be true on number 28 sometimes but, we still receive all channels.

Change to a different transponder to see if anything is there. If not, you might have a bad LNB, further what box are you using?

same here. we've installed the same model and have the same symptoms. unfortunately i can't effectively check many channels since it's not activated yet. i've swapped LNB's and it was no different. Apparently the multiswitch is inside the LNB assembly, and it wa working at it's previous home, so i so far suspect some weird obstruction, a defective receiver, or a blown up satellite or something.

It could also be the tilt.

The tilt adjustment lines up the dish with the line tha the satellites are located in, roughly the same line traversed by the moon...the ecliptic....

If your dish were pointed due south, that line would be parallel to the horizon; the further you are away from due south, the greater the tilt will be. The extreme example is that the path the sun takes when it sets is NOT parallel to the horizon, although its path when it is highest in the sky is. (This analogy falls apart as the seasons change because the actual ecliptic is higher in summer and lower in winter, but the satellites are always at the same elevation. The angle of the ecliptic where you are pointing the dish stays nearly the same, though.)

If you can get A and C, maybe you need a bit more tilt. If you are following the directions, maybe your post is not really level, so the tilt is not actually what you set it at.

I line up A and B, and forget about C; then I check C. I have only had to make an adjustment once this way, and it was an elevation adjustment. The tilt was still correct.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.
