I've got a customer who is wanting the Outlaw 905 Preamp and a Outlaw 7 channel amplifier. Has anyone used this equipment? Let's hear the pro's & Cons.

Thanks

Outlaw is available only direct on the internet. They do not use dealers.

uh, was that a pro or a con? and if it was a pro, was it true or was it a con?
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

I had some Trade in Outlaw gear a while back... I wqould put it in or around the same class as Adcom. Good bang for the buck. The B&K system we put in when he traded it blew it away though.

As a dealer and integrator, I have no interest in installing something that I did not sell. So that would be a con in my mind. Now, I am not speaking of the quality of the unit itself, as I do not have any expierence with it, but why would you want your customer to spend hias money with someone else?

I don't want my customer to spend his money with someone else. I had him set to go on a denon 3803. Then he calls me & tells me about his brothers Outlaw setup and how great it is supposed to be. I'm looking for ammunition to get my Denon back in the door. I'll install either. He'll just pay a lot more for me to install the Outlaw.

Well... I would say the Outlaw Combos right now are going to toast a Denon 3803. I would try to move him up to a 4802R if anything... Power would be more comprable to the 7100 Outlaw Amp.....

I don't mind if a customer wants to use his own equipment or a brand I don't carry. However, if I'm programming and setting up the system I do charge extra for it. It is going to take more time to set up a piece which I'm not familiar and more time to hunt down discrete codes for programming, etc. These now have to factored into the cost. If the customer really wants a given piece they'll happily pay the extra and you'll both make out.

BTW, Outlaw does make good stuff for the price range and isn't too hard to integrate.

Hope this helps.

I think that the Outlaw stuff is similar to the new electronics from Atlantic Technology, www.atlantictechnology.com their A-2000 and P-2000. You may want to check them out.

While true the outlaw is related to the atlantic the comparison is like VW and Porshe while related they are very much different. The atlantic is a far superior piece
