We've all seen the commercial. British, Oz, or other?

Definitely not South Africa. Sounds a little like a "Relaxed" Australian. Time for google!

What i found.......

"Now for the record, the Geico Gecko has been voiced by Kelsey Grammar (the stiff English accent), Richard Steven Horvitz (the voice in the Kung Fu Fighting spot), and Dave Kelly (the relaxed British-Aussie accent)."

Kelsey Grammer was the first acording to two websites but Jake Wood seems to be the main guy now. Thats him below. I see no resemblence.

I hate to remind you, but the question is, where is he from?
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

London, without a doubt. I was born, bred and lived there 40 years, so I feel qualified on this one.

The character is from a design firm in Richmond Virginia. The voice is several people (listed above) with the most commonly used one coming from Jake Wood who is from England. The gecko/creature can be found allover the place.

The question of "where he is from" is a little vague. Its like asking "are my speakers good". I am surprised you didn't point that out. But i will stick with my original answer because i think hes trying to guess the accent.

The question was purely comedic in nature stemming from a cliffhanger Geico commercial that asks the question. I think Ernie picked up on that cause if you read his post it sounds a bit British. Maybe I am reading into that too much.

I do love the facts from Stamp.

I think I have the answer:

Too well spoken and far too polite to be an Aussie. Has to be a Brit.

Wow I can't believe that none of you picked up on the fact that he is well spoken. He can't be from the wild then, he has to be from a pet store. Must've learned to talk from an English Bulldog hence the British accent.

I for one think that is an absolute perfect explanation.
