I have redone some licensed electricians work as well as it was atrocious, wrong and dangerous. A license means NOTHING if they have no freaking idea how to do things right.

Well, this is kind of what I am trying to drill down to, that licensing doesn't make anybody an expert, more qualified, more careful, or more thorough. If you do work properly, it will likely be done better than many homes get done nowadays, and there will be no liability fears.
There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions.

You guys that are illegally installing electrical outlets can now and forever stop giving out advice as business owners. Your credibility is gone.

I wouldn't do an outlet for a client that comes from another junction box and is hot- that's illegal and my insurance wouldn't cover it, anyway. The inlet/outlet whip IS legal in Wisconsin and is seen as similar to an extension cord. Also, WI allows making repairs to electrical wiring if leaving it would pose a safety risk. I have had electricians (licensed and bonded) OK me terminating a box or dropping a whip for a TV when we have worked together in the past- they know I would never intentionally do it wrong because I know their profession is at stake and it might save them a trip just for one outlet. Pretty much a no-brainer if they would have to return for other work, anyway. I tag the work I did and they can check it next time they return.

?? If, by "junction box," you include an existing outlet, running an outlet from an existing outlet is done all the time! A thing called a "junction box" where you don't know what circuits are in it... well, it's a bad idea to take power from such a thing, since, for instance, it might have a dimmed switch leg in it. Could you explain a bit just what's illegal?

When you say "dropping a whip for a TV" you don't state whether this is from an existing outlet box or from a "junction box," which makes me ask the same question: what are you talking about that is illegal?
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

It's the same in Upstate New York. Outside of any really major city, your cat can wire your house (or an entire sub-division of houses). And it shows, too. I have seen some very, scary installs. (Why use UF cable underground when simple, and cheaper, NM cable [Romex] will do?). (4 AWG copper won't fit under the screw on the neutral bar? Just untwist the strands and put them under a couple of screws!).

The state itself doesn’t require licensing but most cities/towns do.

If credibility was a prerequisite for posting, you would have been kicked out YEARS ago.

Glad you are familiar with how things work here in Texas. And YOU bring up credibility issues? HAHAHAHAHAH. Nuff said.

Here is what you should do: Stick out tongue, stick in wall socket. Best you do it in a 220v. Better results.

I know how it works in Texas. Cry about NJ getting tax dollars for disaster relief then beg like welfare queens when you get a little rain. Aren't you tired of looking ridiculous?

If it's a house that one of you trunkslammers wired I probably just need to touch the television mount to get electricuted.

I didn't even read his post and I know this much...

He's comparing a "power bridge" (legal some places) to an unlicensed electrician adding a new outlet that they tie into a clients existing outlet. Illegal everywhere as far as I know. Then again...I only work near civilization. Not sure what they are doing in the holler.

Isn't it a good thing you didn't pursue humor for a living? Indeed. You are not good at it all.

THINK a little more before you attempt again, please.

Maybe you mean you wouldn't do this with the power on.
