are you using digital inputs for your primary sound? If so then you need to run analog to get the remote speakers to work other then FM/AM
No job to small, many to big

You also have to go into the setup and make them active.

I've hooked this receiver to my mac with a 3.5 stereo mini phone plug to dual rca jack stereo cable. This works for running audio from computer to receiver, but I've got remote speakers on a deck outside that I'm trying to power up. I'm not able to get any sound out of the deck speakers no matter what I do.

If your remote or front panel has a button marked "multi-source" then hit that, and immediately hit the source you want to go to second set of speakers. Or if the remote has a slide switch for multisource, go there and select your source.

Last thing is to bump up the volume by hitting multi-source then volume up.
There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions.

Thanks for the input, I figured it out finally. I had forgotten that the remote is the only way to control the volume to the remote speakers. Thanks again.
