is it possible that this tuner doesn't have a IR receiver anymore

I installed one about a year ago and it worked fine.
I believe it just doesn't ship with a remote, but the ir sensor is there.

I did a few of them without problems except for the fact that it doesn't have many commands, but the one I got last week never responded....maybe it was defective?

The Yamaha TX492 does use the same preset +/- commands
as the current line of receivers but doesnt work with the expanded codes for direct preset access.
