It's important to note that some of Terk's conventional antennas are being sourced from another source. The Terk raison d'etre is that they include many mount options as well, including wall, chimney, etc.

I have played with the Terk 44,Terk 55,Terk 60,. I actually purchased a decent quantity of Terk 55's a few years back. They work great if you need something to hold a door open.

Aren't HD stations transmitted on UHF frequencies? And aren't UHF antennae basically just a loop? And if so couldn't they be mounted unobtrusively on TOP of the roof? Just wondering.

How hard can this be? |

The reason we mount antennas in attics is for the homewoner. Most of the customers that we deal with have homeowners associations. They won't allow an antenna to be mounted on the roof. And it keeps it away from the elements.

The Terk raison d'etre is that they include many mount options as well, including wall, chimney, etc. I beg to differ with you. Since Terk's first products, where the packaging spent a lot of time gloating over their design (i.e. product's appearance) awards, Terk's raison d'etre has been to look good. If it takes lots of mounting stuff to be sure you can be up there looking good, then so be it.

I have to second the door stop comment about the terk antenna's. I have yet to see one work effectively.
Trunk-Slammer -Supreme Did you have any type of amplification on the antenna? Did you use a meter to sight it in? Just curious.

Mea culpa for not being clearer.

Okay then let me rephrase: The homeowners association and the homeowners themselves do not want the antenna on the outside of the house. Nothing looks worse on the outside of a million dollar home than antenna. Well, maybe a fat woman riding a lawnmower , but that's not my business.

Yeah but hopefully the fat woman leaves when she finishes mowing the yard. The antenna never goes away.
