A client just sent this over to me asking about these TV's for his bathroom.  Has anyone ever heard of these?

They just started a remodel of the bathroom and I think he's looking to put something behind the mirror?  Any suggestions?

I haven't emailed him back, but I've never heard of this stuff.

Never heard of them either, but took a quick look...

First thing I noticed was no component video input.  Seemed to have HDMI & composite only?

Will the lack of component be a deal killer with your intended source(s).

This isn't a purchase yet.  They just shot over the email saying hey we're re-doing the bath...what do you think of these...I think they may be some kinda knock-off...If nobody here has ever heard of them or used one, they've gotta be.  I would think after 80 views at RC somebody would have seen them once....unless they're some sort of chinese knock off. IMO.

Email or phone them directly and ask what of "several hotels" they are in. Contact the Engineering Department of two of those hotels and ask about those TVs.

For the heck of it, ask if the TVs have discrete commands. That's more for a laugh than anything, really.... But tell them you intend to buy a lot of them and tell them you'll need to have detailed information on the remote control codes, such as whether they are the same as Samsung, or LG, or whatever.

Never be afraid to call the manufacturer (or importer, which these look to be). The users can give you even better information.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

I gave it 24 hrs on this site...I'm just pulling the plug on this purchase.  We'll work with a TV that I've heard of before.

Thanks again.

Without even trying to contact the manufacturer? That seems a bit strange as this industry changes day by day. You might find they are another version of Vizio, but you might find they are helpful, profitable (you may be able to supply the TV yourself and earn some money) and a good brand to add to the arsenal.

I just get freaked out when I've never heard of a product.  I don't like to put my name on it.  I do apprciate the help Ernie.  But, they've got the prices listed right on the site so I don't think I could make enough margin on it that would be worth keeping me up at night.

You're right, this industry changes constantlly, and there are things that slip by me all the time that I've have to "catch up" on.  But 9 times out of 10 if I post something on this site, somebody will have heard of it.  I got nothing.

It doesn't give me the warm fuzzies.

At least they are not hiding the fact, they are the manufacture in the profile.

Let me ask you:
1) With the 2 year warranty it says outside of China, the country has to have a local service center available. So, do you have local service centers in the US? Or is there no warranty on products for us because they are no service centers here?

2) What are the control methods? IR, RS232, IP control? Are there codes for ON & OFF, individual input codes, etc.

3) Do your products have international regulatory approvals? How about UL in the US?

4) How long does it take for product to get to me in the US, once ordered?

5) What LCD panels are you using?

6) Standard VESA mounting patterns on the back or custom pattern for special mounts you supply?

7) I'll think of more....

Sorry for a long time for answer, here answers on your questions:

1) With the 2 year warranty it says outside of China, the country has to have a local service center available. So, do you have local service centers in the US? Or is there no warranty on products for us because they are no service centers here?

We do provide warranty by means of recognizing the problem and it's reason by remote assistance and sending spare parts for replacement for free within 2 years. There is no local service center at the moment but there is a partner's warehouse for 30 days return according to Amazon return policies.

2) What are the control methods? IR, RS232, IP control? Are there codes for ON & OFF, individual input codes, etc.

Now our TVs has IR control protocol only, IR codes can be provided by request. We also provide IR pass through solution for easy integration and control of a connected STB.

3) Do your products have international regulatory approvals? How about UL in the US?

At the moment we have CE, RoHS and EAC certificates as required by the main markets we focus on. FCC and UL can be provided as soon as we have a local partner in the US or a project with this specific requirements.

4) How long does it take for product to get to me in the US, once ordered?

5 to 14 business days, we ship by DHL and it's free.
5) What LCD panels are you using?

We use LG or Samsung panels depending on the availability in the market. All the main parameters remain the same from one batch to another. IPS / VA panels are used since 2017.
6) Standard VESA mounting patterns on the back or custom pattern for special mounts you supply?

All our TVs has standard VESA mount on the back. Though most of customers use our back box for in-wall installtion.

So, I think AVEL Tvs is pretty good choice and costs not so much as others.

8). Why does the girl in the bathtub on the home page of your website look like she was drugged in a nightclub and woke up naked in a Russian brothel?
