I've just installed an IR repeater system in a conference room. Xantech was the product of choice. Since I've used their products before and been happy. In the past I've had Flourescent interference problems, and been able to overcome them by using CFL receivers but, this time it's just not working. The Electrical contractor has installed dimable flourescents and my emitters are blinking like crazy. Few or none of the commands are getting through. I've tried using 780-80 CFL friendly receivers, moving the receivers, masking the receivers, nothing seems to work. Anyone have any answers?
Thanks, George

If you turn off the lights is the IR system working OK?What kind of power supply are you using? Are you using sheilded data wire? If yes did you try placing a 470ohm resistor from your ground terminals on the connecting block to the IR in .Then connect the sheild of the data cable to the ground terminal .The resistor will discharge the cable capacitance more quickly allowing the IR codes to pass without data loss. The 780-80 is a great unit I have installed a lot of them and never had a problem with Flourescent interference .

The CFL receivers are junk!!! I have never had any luck with them.Try the plasma proof ir that DBDElectronics mentioned.

The 780-80 will work fine that's what it was design for. All you have to do is find out what is causing your interference. If the xantech emitter is continuously lite the Audioplex will not help at all. We been using Xantech products for over 20 years. They always work.

Audioplex plasma proof recivers work well but take note on the wiring if you are using Xantech ir system there are 2 different ways to wire it one for Audioplex & one for Xantech(learned that the hard way) We used one right underneith a Runco 61" plasma that put out somuch interfearance it was goofing up another system some 30 ft away.

The Xantech CFL stuff usually works. YES, turn off all the lights and see if it really is fluourescent interference. I had a problem child recently where the Dinky Link talkback LED stayed lit no matter what I did. Most commands got through but TiVo commands randomly were ignored. After much tedious troubleshooting, I happened to put a layer of painter's blue masking tape over the eye to see if there was IR coming from somewhere in the room. Lo and behold, the talkback LED went very dim! AND THE DEVICE PICKED UP ALL IR COMMANDS THROUGH THE TAPE! It turned out that two layers of tape chilled the talkback LED entirely, and the Dinky Link still got all the signals. As for the TiVo, a much smaller random amount of commands were ignored. I don't know what it was or how it worked, but I am sure remembering it!
