I have an application where I need to run a HD receiver, DVD, VCR etc. to a front projector and tv. I am doing the switching with an AV receiver. The video sources will not operate Simultaneously. Is there a switcher out there that will let mo do this or can I simply use Y's to split the signals. Any help will be appriciated.

y's are fine for composite video, but might mess up the composite HD signal.

There's a unit made for multiple HD outputs... Key makes one- it's the unit used at my supplier's showroom. It has one RGB input, and has 5 RGB outputs
We can do it my way, or we can do it my way while I yell. The choice is yours.

Sounds like you have several sources you want to run and not always the same thing running to both Monitors. If you are just monitoring the signal at the TV then use composite video out from all the source units and just give up the better quality component and S-Video signals. Maybe this will work for you.

The customer wants to view the TV for everyday use and drop the screen in front of the TV to watch the proj. I need to connect all of the components to both video sources with equal quality. They are both HD video sources.

Easy, Just do this. Switch everything thru the receiver, then use this ( [Link: cable-electronics.com] )it will allow you to send component signals to both monitors with no problem. Also if you use a receiver which upconverts everything to component you won't have to switch inputs on either tv.
