A client wants to send the output of his TiVo box to the TV and also his DVD recorder.

The DVD recorder will pass the S signal but delays the video in relation to the direct digital feed of the audio from the TiVo.

Is there a cheap (hopefully not Radio Shack) splitter or do we have to go with something like that CE Labs unit that might cost him $150 or more?

Appreciate your input.

Thanks, enjoyed looking at that website, and I'll bookmark it.

It may be out of his budget. I had quoted him a CE Labs piece at $150 and he even wanted to think about that.

I really wanted him to get a new Integra receiver. Oh well.

Does he really need a "Splitter" and not a switch? Seems to me that you would never be watching TIVO and Recording on the DVR at the same time... You certainly couldnt Watch and record soemthing different...

Alternate:

Run composite on one and S-Video on the other..... If hes worried about spending the right amount f money to make his video correct, I doubt he'll see the difference.... Certainly a cheap passive S-Video splitter is going to wreck the signal more than running one side composite....

Well, he could if he uses a second receiver; one for watching and another for recording.
