I need to see if anyone has a spare Intellifile II Programmer(not the yellow box) I can buy. I sell most of the Niles line and have programmed about a zillion Intellicontrols both with the Intellifile II and the old box (with old employer that is no longer a dealer)but they refuse to sell me a programmer. I have three customers that need modifications to their Intellicontrols and need to take care of them. Hope somebody can help me out.

I buy Niles through a limited distribution program, meaning that I can sell pretty much everything except AT speakers and the Intellicontrol. I am not really that concerned with selling the Intellicontrol itself as much as taking care of these customers that have been basically abandoned by their old company. It is interesting to me that Niles is so protective of a product that is in such bad need of an overhaul. Try running a Tivo/DVR with it. Let's see, do I put the instant replay under e or p? I know that it still has valid applications but since more and more manufacturers are now smart enough to include discreets, it isn't nearly as usefull as it use to be, especially without using a touchscreen to run the msu.

TB...

Sadly, you're right on all accounts. They are ONLY available to certified programmers, and then only as allowed per area based on dealers. ANd yes, it DESPERATELY needs an ovehaul, although we still do several for simple systems per year.

unless i'm mistaken (and i often am) It is possible to program an IR (not hardwired) touchscreen to operate an intelliconrol. i believe it's now possible to purchase a standalone MSU...try packaging it with a TSU-6400i :D
