Display on the player show "U73" and won't play or give a picture (Not even the welcome screen. We tried a different player (Same model) and we get the same error message. No problem with other sources. Any idea what "U73" error message stand for? I believe we have a HDCP compatibility problem, but I would like to have some info or error "U73".

Happened to me on a recent install. Replaced the Monster high speed HDMI cable with another identical cable and it worked.
Another HDMI horror story and extra un-paid hour of trouble shooting to get HDMI to work.
By the way, if you look in the back of the manual, that error code is listed in the trouble shooting section.
Can we kill the @sshole who invented this damn cable?

I went through that fiasco with 2 Panasonic players. Both showed the U73 warning. Tried swapping HDMI cables, resetting the units, nothing worked. Finally returned them and got a Samsung unit instead. The same HDMI cables work fine with the Samsung.

Had the same thing happen with the Panny Blu Ray running through an onkyo receiver. But it went away when connected directly to the TV. Going to swap out the player with a Samsung.

Yup. Got this through baluns and also through a switcher. Had to set the player to 1080i through the switcher to get a picture. This was with a 1m HDMI jumper to the switcher and a 4m HDMI jumper to the TV. Ridiculous.
