Anybody here use XM as a source? I want to know if you can get the metadata from the unit to show up on a display, like a touch pannel or TV set. Sounds like a great source but I would like to be able to get feedback from it into a control surface.

Obiwan, These are SIRIUS units, but worth taking a look. The new Antex receiver scheduled for Dec 3rd release may have what you are looking for.

Or the Kenwood DT-7000s

I am not sure when the Kenwood will be released. They both had bi-directional data on the rs-232 ports.

I saw them at the CEDIA expo in the SIRIUS booth.
I may be schizophrenic, but at least I have each other.

ADA makes XM tuner modules as well as a host of antenna distribution goodies that support full data out to a control system for display on touchpanels and other items. Its not cheap, but if you've got TP's in the system already, its probably not a budget buster.

Crestron's XM tuner is also not far from its release date.

We have a RS-232 to Unilink converter.
If you use it with the Sony XT-XM1 XM receiver
you can have full 2 way control with the XM receiver.
We also have Crestron macro to operate the XM.
