Onkyo/Integra has a bulletin ref#ONKO112191 some DVD titles that will drop out on 5.1 surround audio, but DTS decoding is O.K. Due to some type of problems with recent software. They then state other manufacturers are also are having the same problems. Could someone advise as to what other manufacturers have this problem. So I can properly advise my cutomers.

Troy,
Have had the same issues with the following brands...either because we carry, or we got called to fix!
Onkyo, Marantz, Kenwood, JVC, Pioneer, Sony and H/K...
Don't know whether this was ALL the same problem or just that some of the above are far different than the others, but I was given the same sphiel by several diff manufacturers. From the research I have done, ONKYO is not lying, this was a change in the encoding process on the HOLLYWOOD end, that has deemed some of everybody's favorites A/V receivers useless in DD 5.1 on CERTAIN DVD's....Pearl Harbor and Jurassic Park 3 seem to be the biggest culprits...solution, sell DTS receivers and advise customers to buy DTS DVD's!!
Practical huh!!!
Cheers,
Brian
