Does anyone have a solution? System is as follows: HAI UPB Lighting to be controlled with HLC using Scene Switches and House switches placed around the house All load switches have been wired into closets HAI Touch Screens in Foyer and Master Bedroom
I did not design or install the system, but I've been asked to take over the job as the original installer was way beyond his means on this install and the load switches will not communicate back to the brain via UPB.
From my readings, the system is not meant for more than 2 zones, where a phase coupler would be added.
All electrical wiring in house is over BX

If it is a 3-phase system, you will need a 3-phase coupler. They run about $350.

Not sure which models, but you may want to check here: [Link: cocoontech.com] Do a search or join and ask. Lots of UPB and HAI users here.

I copied and pasted this from HAI's web site:
"HLC’s two way performance has been optimized for single family homes on 120/240 volt electrical systems. HAI does not recommend HLC for three phase 120/208 systems unless all switches and home control systems are on a single 120 v phase. Although there are three phase repeaters available for UPB™ (the technology used in HLC) HAI does not currently recommend their use."
Good luck with this!

This is the part you should try:

It's about the only thing you can do at this point, I guess.

Since this year's CEDIA, we had a number of people requesting us to get into the HAI Connectivity Library. For those of you using HAI, Zektor just became an official HAI Connectivity Partner.
Thanks.

3 Phase in residential application? How often does this happen?

With regards to 3 phase UPB, you are heading into an area of much grief unless you do a bunch of research and get edumicated.
3 phase repeaters from Pulsworx are available and I beleive you also want Gen 2 UPB switches (so you need to fin out if that is true and if so, if your existing HAI UPB switches are Gen2)
I'd start by calling either Terry at Web Mountain (my first choice) or tech support at Pulseworx (a good 2nd choice), if not both.
It can work, and well...if you're willing to spend some time.
And it is a 3 phase repeater, not a "phase coupler" ...in this case.
