Here's the deal, Direct TV system, Oval dish 3 lnb intergrated dish, signal is fine on all sats and odd or even transponders. Problem is that when I go thru a spawn amplifier to a cascadable multiswitch I lose the even transponders. I all the switches to 22, the dish is fine, like I said before the problem startrs when I go thru the spawn stuff. I onl;y have 4 of the 10 recievers working because of this problem.
Any suggestions? I dont have the model numbers with me for the spawn stuff, sorry.

Thanks in advance

why have a nice system if you cant operate it, program the remote the right way the FIRST time!

What size multiswitch do you have?

There is the builtin 4 way going to a spawn sat amp 4 in 4 out, that goes to a apawn cascadable 4 way multiswitch that goes to a spawn 8 way multiswitch that goes to a spawn 4 way multiswitch. The dish is mounted on the pool house, the sat amp and the first multiswitch are there also, the other two multiswitches are 150 feet away, at the main house.
If I bypass all the spawn stuff, no problem, but if I go through it to the first multiswitch, I get no even transponders.
As of right now I am coming off the dish , bypassing all spawn stuff, barrel connected to four feeds in the main house. I bypassed the amp and am still getting a great signal in the house 150 feet away. I'm thinking I dont need the amp, but if I read directions right I have to have the amp to make the multiswiches work.
Why only odd transponders thru the spawn, but all is fine when bypassed, thats the answer I'm looking for.

The only other time I had this problem is when some trunk slammer was going from an built in multiswitch to a 5x8 without useing any 22khz tone generators, same problem no even transponders, I added the tone generators and problem was solved.

That is an awful lot of to go through for what you need. You've got two options the way I see it. OPTION 1: get rid of all of that stuff except the 8 way multiswitch. Run two of the wires from the dish direct to 2 of the receivers (if they have HD receivers use these two lines for them). Run the other 2 lines from the dish directly into the Spaun 8 way, then hookup the 8 other TV's you've got a total of 10 TV's.

OPTION 2: Purchase a 5X12 multiswitch (Spaun makes one). Run all four lines from dish to multiswitch. then you have the antenna port on the multiswitch if you need it. The 5X12 switch is not cheap. Either one of those two options will work.

option 1 wont work, I have to get HD to at least 5 recievers so I need all four lines to go thru the spawn 5x8 cascadable multiswitch.
Option 2 would be great except that the dish, and two recievers are located at the pool house (1 HD) and the rest of the stuff is at the main house.
If I could mount a dish on the main house AND get four lines to the network I would, but this is a three story house ,the network is on the second floor, no feasable way to get wires from dish to network.

You're picking up 3 sats with that dish. Are the evens out on all 3 sats?

Yes, just when I go thru all the spawn stuff. Again if I bypass everything and just come off the dish everything is fine. I'm going back monday to try a few more things.

your problem is that your trying to go from one multi-switch (in the dish) to the spawn multi-switch and although that procedure was lagitiment back when we only had sat A, the addition of sat B&C at 22kHz does not work the same way.

the only correct solution is to get rid of that P.O.S dish and install one with seperate lnb's and a sat c kit. there are VERY FEW times when a built in switch style dish is worth the trouble. the switch section has a very high failure rate in my experience.

I'm with 8"s&Aces, get rid of the multiswitch lnb thing, those are great if you have less then four recievers. go with seperate lnb's then get a regular multi-.

Sounds like a problem with the sat b/sat c 18V input on the amp or one of the multi-switches, or a cable to it, since that's where the even transponders come from.

Problem solved! Combination of two things, sat amp switch was set to 22k, but it needed to be off of that setting just a little (indention for setting wwas in wrong place?) Retoned and terminated all rg6 ends, 24 total, in the mid to high 80's on all sats on 12 recievers in the house. Thatks for all the input.

We just had a very similar problem ...
We just ran a new rg6 to the receiver and it fixed it
no resetting switches or anything .
