i did a search, on here and on line and couldn't find anything conclusive. i am looking for info about when Pioneer started using Panny glass, and then when Panny started making the panels for Pioneer. if someone could point me in the right direction to conclusive data i would really appreciate it.
thank you Steven

Didn't happen and won't in the near future. This year's Pioneer & Elite models used everything Pioneer including glass. Sadly, the last models rolled off the line in May and the plants are being shut down, changed to other products, or sold. Luckily for Panasonic did get a bunch of Pioneer engineers and techs; or so I heard.

NSP01 is correct.
The plan was for Panasonic to build panels with Pioneer's technologies inside, but ultimately, Pioneer decided to exit the plasma business instead (they had lost money for many years running on plasma).

No! Never! Always Pioneer glass except a few 61" that were NEC glass when Pioneer purchased the NEC factory.

Pioneer may be owned by Panasonic, but as said, Pioneer never used Panasonic glass.

No, Pioneer IS NOT affiliated with Panasonic in any way. One of the last independents unless you count Sharp's 14%.
After 23 years you would think they would have told me.

We always had to try to upsell clients to the pioneer and show them the difference was worth paying for. Now with the recent price drops they are flying out of our store. Too bad Pioneer didn't find that sweet spot before.
