Hi

I thought this may be of interest to the CI's on here a template response for a mass mailed enquiry. Having received an enquiry with ten other ci's in the CC list we formulated an adequate response. Let me know what you think.

Hi

Many thanks for your enquiry. I have estimated that with the number of people you have asked to quote it would be better if you merely asked us for a donation.

That way ten hard pressed companies can ensure that you receive a system at the right price (nothing) and that the ten companies mitigate the amount of time involved so we don’t incur to much individually by way of cost.

Whilst I’m sure the single room solution you seek is of interest to you and vastly important for your client, I wonder whether you have thought of the time involved for all companies and the actual cost of your enquiry.

Assume 10 x 1hour to study and formulate a reply @ £60 per hour total cost £600.00.

Assume 10 x site visits and travelling time total estimate four hours each. 10 x 4 x £60.00, cost of visits £2400.00.

Assume 10 x 3 hours to formulate a response and quotation again at £60.00 per hour. Total cost £1800.00.

Finally 10 x 1 hour chasing the quotation and following up. 10 x £60. Further cost £600.00

The total cost of your enquiry to the industry is therefore £5400.00 a reasonable budget for a single room solution.

Please therefore find attached my cheque for £540.00 towards the cost.

Best Regards.

You played that all wrong. You should have all agreed to a specific amount and had everyone submbit proposals for that amount.

Then offer 5 off of that to steal the job LOL.

You shouldn't have sent a check, you should have sent them a bill.

I thought potential clients had better manners than ours in the UK!
Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results...

10 requests, wow, what a PIA!!

i would just ignore the request, out of 10 requests, there will usually be at least 3 guys who under bid to keep his trucks rolling regardless of profit.

Unfortunately, in the U.S. at least, that is the clearest definition of a trust, price-fixing, trade collusion and likely a number of other illegal things.
