BASICALLY IM LOOKING FOR ANY AND ALL DISCRETE codes FOR A BDV-IS1000. LONG STORY SHORT THE CO I WORK FOR (SECRET) LOL sold a theater in a box sony bluray built in. Im trying to create macros for a universal mx-450 w a mrf 250. Problem is, ive got 0 codes for the T-I-A-B unit. ive learned them all and ive got the macros basically "riggin" the system to do "function" button presses ever .2 sec delAYS to get to the HDMi 1 input for the uverse box. thats all great and all unless the BDP has no disk in the player. Then ive got major macro PROBS bc the sony loves to go to its OSD that requires navigating(WHEN THERES NO DISK). Please help ONLY if you can figure in a HDMI "dicrete" code into the mix. Im using universal not bc i love it but bc my co uses it and its my job to make it work. I hate defeat...... BTW LOL MY DISCRETE POWER ON COMMAND IS A "ONE TOUCH DVD' BUTTON. YEAH THATS WHAT I SAID....

Forget it. The Sony HTIB do not have discretes. Using the 450 is a challenge with a system like this. You are going to have to put an input page on each activity and train the client how to change sources on the system.

Please. When someone has handed you a turd to work with, don't make your request for free help difficult to understand bc u can't take the time to spell out the words and form complete sentences with periods and all.
I think, basically, your client is screwed. They were sold a piece of crap, and the makers of pieces of crap don't spend a penny on fancy control scenarios. They figure the person using the system is going to have to learn to use it as is, meaning you won't be able to do any better with even the best remote control system. The best you can do, probably, is to reproduce on the URC remote the ability to use the menu like a person can on the HTIB remote.
For that matter, does the URC remote give you anything more than TV power control? Is it even worth it to the client to have the URC remote?
My personal recommendation is for you to have your boss read this: boss, please take back that HTIB and put it in your living room for six months. Then, every time you're tempted to supply something like that, remember life at home.

I have ACTUALLY said this a thousand times: We can't help you much without the make and model of everything involved in the problem! Unless you want a vague answer. Or none. Your move. |

A "Home Theater in a Box" is already where it belongs. Leave it in the box.

Try a Harmony One, for a HTIB? Good luck with that. HTIB and especially the Sony and Panasonic ones do not play well with universal remotes even if it's a harmony.

Thanks for the help guys. Sorry about the typing on the post, I was in a hurry and not really wanting to even ask the question to begin with. Anyhow my boss knows its a POS, nothing I can do about it. To answer your question ERNIE, no its not worth having a universal remote. If i had sold him that POS I would have never even brought up a univ remote. But it is what it is, Im sap-post to install it and its sap-post to work. That's the extent of my pay grade. What I have to say makes no diff to the powers at be....If you only knew... Anyhow the way ive got it working now IS to do macros, im doing calculated button presses of the function key to make it work. I have NO discrete codes, not one. My power on is a BDP button that will turn the unit on and go straight to the BDP part of the "receiver" but like I said the prob is, if there's no DVD in the tray it goes to the SONY OSD in-which case it wont take any commands other than navigation.... So if there's any actually HELPFUL info id really appreciate it.
