Ahhhh, you must have had a big glass of the AMX or Crestron Kool-aid :)

Jeff just had a bad experience with them. Being a big NetStreams fan, I won't even mention them when in his presence. He gets that crazy look in his eyes...

Buzz, are you going to be at CES? I'd like to sit down and talk if you have a chance.

Indeed!
We don't exhibit there (well, we did once, but 90% of the attendees we talked to were just not our target partners), but a lot of our international distributors attend so I am usually there at least three days.

I'd be delighted to set up some time to talk. We have a lot of interesting things going on...

I can do anything AMX/Crestron can do without the huge programming cost. The only thing NetStreams lacks is Customizable GUI's.

And Inspiron can do anything Lutron can do ;-). BTW, your second sentence totally contradicts the possibility of the first being true.

Picky picky, I meant from a control standpoint.

Netstreams, with Clear One behind them is a pretty powerful. These guys could take the technology where ever they want to go, it already works (I know some would disagree) and all they have to do is perfect it. The patents sound very defendable, they could own this type of product in the market. I hope they break things wide open, drive down costs and make it affordable to everyone. There would be more work out there than anyone could handle.
OR, Clear One could come in drive away the talent, micro-manage Netstreams into the ground but I doubt it. Next year is going to be very, very interesting.

We know what you meant. Gui layout effects the control.

I just spent three days on an RTI layout for a client. I couldnt imagine it any other way. I gave the client and designer exactly what they wanted from 3rd party vendors like Apple, Speco, AutoPatch, Denon, with custom backgrounds that matched the wood work in the residence. Try that without custom programming.

You may retort saying "why would you want to spend 3 days when you could program in 10 minutes" ..... Cause I know it works and my clients love it.

We have lots of integrators who use RTI to control NetStreams products, using our StreamNet technology to distribute the audio, video and control. So if that's what you're into...
Same for AMX and Crestron, both of which we have complete interfaces available for.
I would also note that our next release (this month (I am running it at home now)) contains the ability to do complete custom backgrounds, (like your wood background,,, funny, I am using a bamboo background which is one of the examples supplied with the software).
Better still with our TLA250 amplified touchscreen you can match the entire device fascia to its environment, not just the screen. I have one mounted in a Tuscan yellow/orange sponge painted wall and it elicits more oohs and ahhs then the big touchscreens with full metadata.
