I am looking at netstreams, but haven't been able to get a lot of information. I think streaming is the future of video distribution but will these be the guys to bring it to the mainstream? I don't know any dealers who use it but it looks cool and they have a nice selection of products. I am trying to select the av system for a large project and multiple phone calls has only gotten me "we don't deal with specifiers". Help, let me know what you think and how well it integrated into a control system. How many dealers are using it, I don't know any in phoenix and would like to see one up and running in a home.

Do a lot of research on it. Search the RC forums and google before you jump. Just a suggestion.

Hi Mark,
Sorry for your frustrating experience. I'm not quite clear on the meassage you are getting, but I suspect the confusion might be that you do have to be a trained and authorized dealer. This is an integrator-centric product that requires installation so there is no MSRP (since there is no "R") We do regional trainings, advanced level ones at HQ in Austin and have online courses as well. I would be happy to arrange to have one of our regional sales managers talk with you directly if you would like.

We are a netstreams dealer and have installed a few systems. Send me a PM with what you'd like to know and I can try and answer any questions you have.

I would like to learn about the system so let me know "next steps". I work with homeowners to choose products, integrators and help with the overall design. I am not an integrator anymore but am Crestron, Vantage, Lutron, Elan certified and have been for the last 25 years. I don't want to sell it but if it is a fit, I would like to spec it. Crestron and Lutron have done such a good job with specifiers at the high end they are the default choice. Budget is far more important than it use to be so I am trying to see what might be best for this project. Let me know marks@abacusprime.com

I would like to see a system in action. Any input on best practices would also be great, thank you for the help.

I just returned from NetStreams training and was very very impressed with the capabillities of the system. I can do anything AMX/Crestron can do without the huge programming cost. The only thing NetStreams lacks is Customizable GUI's. Their Touchscreens are pre determined. The digital amps sound pretty good and the video over IP is impressive.

Let's play nice guys, this is a thread to find good information and for us to work together not a spittin' match I have received some good information for and against netstreams, that I now need to digest, too much partisanship lately over hardware. Gear isn't as important as working with professionals, that's why I like coming here to draw on the talent and experience then hopefully share the same. Ten years from now there will be other big players but we will all still be around, keep an open mind, promote your company, not the hardware.
