I don't think it would be PC to post what I really think. This is going to be a real mess going into the holiday season. I wonder if Walmart has actualy thought about the returns they are going to start seeing. It's one thing to sell a box of something which requires not support but now they are going to have to field calls about why their TV doesn't look as sharp as the ones on display and why are there black bars on the top and bottom of my display and etc, etc, etc.

LOL!

The company commissioned to do the installs, Flextronics, is looking for help, at $14/hour, at the Grapevine location.

The retail position that they're looking to fill specifies this diddy, from the job requirements list:
"Sound understanding in one of the following: wireless networking, digital photography, imaging, Bluetooth and wireless peripherals or home theater (including installation)."

Edit - I don't know who is doing the installs. Julie says it is NEW Customer Service Companies, Inc.

Here is their advert:

And here is the NEW FAQ for Installation Providers:

Looks like this could be a real revenue source, between new installs.

I have a "visual" picture... Guys with really bad mullets, and wife beater t-shirts, missing teeth, showing up at the house... Ringing the customer's doorbell, with a cigarette hanging out of their mouth.

Hey, Sounds great! Where do I sign up? You mean I can...

- build their client base.
- lose my business identity.
- take all of the legal liability.
- give up a percentage of my profits.
- get a contractors license and let them benefit.
- allow them to take my employees to open new markets.

All of this for a small fee.

Flextronics is one of the largest contract manufactures. What the heck are they doing outsourcing this crap?

Yes, I heard the news.

If CC can pull it off,why not Wallyworld.................oh............what........it didn't work??

I'm looking forward to not dealing with the Walmart customers that want there "flat panel" mounted on Christmas eve!

Someday Walmart MAY rule the world of AV but I will have lost interest and moved on by then.

Very true but the phone still rings!

I'm not sure why but the "powers that be" still thinks that I can pull off a couple of these installs on the way back to the shop after a 12 hour day of installing our stuff :-(

He bitches and moans to potential clients all day long about installing products that we didn't sell and then pulls this sh*t!!

I'm confused(and tired)!

I stouped to the low end of contacting a company regarding doing this in my area (very poor economically). But once they submitted their paperwork to me with their rates I almost pee'd myself. $90 bucks for a on wall TV with wire concealment. Even CC rates paid me better than that, I will continue to use the advice I pulled from here a few weeks ago.....JUST BUILD MY OWN CLIENT BASE AND I WILL SURVIVE WITHOUT THE NEEDS OF THE LIKES OF THESE CONTRACTS
