the picture is amazing. The problem is on high end tvs like my elite it will show you artifacts sometimes but the colors. detail etc are great. When viewing the exact same source on the samsung plasma and the pioneer you can clearly see the elite showing you the flaws at times. The elite displays the image faster than the samsung thus when watching super high action scenes the elite is showing you a few problems with the film vs it looks 100% fine on the samsung. I am going to document a bunch of different things tomorrow as well as how exactly keys are exchanged etc etc. The easiest way to explain this is if you press info on the directv dvr the window will actually pop up on the pioneer faster than the samsung.

So hows business Ed? Is the product shipping and being installed yet? What sort of pricing do you have for dealers on a couple of sets to experiment with? I need this product so i can steal Kevin's C4 customers and bring them over to Crestron :). Re: Business
Yes, the product is shipping and being installed. It has been shipping since May 2009.
Re: Pricing
It would not be appropriate to discuss dealer pricing in a public forum. Please send me a Private Message if you are ready to become a dealer.
Re: Potential customers
Last but not least, this is not a zero sum game. There's enough potential HDMI over IP customers/applications out there to support Control4, Crestron, AMX, RTI, Pakedge, Savant, (to name a few of the platforms we are already working with). We'll gladly provide HDMI over IP technology to Crestron dealers. I can even send you an examle Crestron control module to get you started.

Ed, have you spoken to HomeLogic about an RS232 driver? No, but we are not opposed to working with them. Do you have some connections that you could use to make them aware of HDMI over IP?

Also has anyone tried using this with the IP over powerline equipment, this would make a great retrofit solution.

Also has anyone tried using this with the IP over powerline equipment, this would make a great retrofit solution. So far our Ethernet over Powerline tests have not been very productive. We've tried a few different model of the LinkSys/Cisco homeplugs adapters, and none of them worked. We had the same failure with some of the ones from SlingBox. After CEDIA we had a newer highspeed Netgear XAVB101 set sent to us, and that device has worked the best, but it still wasn't acceptable for continuous use.
On a different note, we did have some success using some newer Wireless-n WAPs in Bridge mode to send HDMI over IP wirelessly. The WAPs we used were most reliable when a clear line of sight was maintined.

I mentioned "Just Add Power" to the regional trainer during a break. He started watching the Youtube video but was interupted when class returned. So, at least one person (Brian Pflum) at Homelogic/Elan Home Systems has heard of your product. He seemed quite interested!

For those of you sitting on the sidelines, besides the Control4 drivers (which Kevin has taken to the next level), we also have HDMI over IP modules available for Crestron and AMX devices. I would like to encourage you to give HDMI over IP a chance to be part of your total A/V integration toolkit. If you have not yet seen it with your own eyes, you really can't appreciate what it can do for your business.
