I [posted this on the Home Theater Master forum as well, sorry about the duplication but I thought someone here may be able to direct me to the right discrete codes.

I had a Harmony SST-768 and couldn't get it to work after many discussions with the Harmony folks on the phone. Before that , I had (and still have) a Sony RM-AV2100 that was not very useful. Now I have a MX-700 and I really want to get this up and running (as does my wifey). To do so, I am looking for the on/off discretes (or a work around) for the following components:

Toshiba SD-1700 DVD player
Mitsubishi HS-U550 VCR
General Instrument CFT2200 Cable Box

Question is the following. If I find a device on the IR database that has discretes that work, how do I add them to my remote without replacing all the learned cdommands I havfe programmed into it. While it wouldn't take a lot of time to reprogram, it would take some time.

My sincerest Thank-you to anyone who can help.

Mark

The Todhiba DVD has no discrete power codes but a macro for Play|Stop=ON and Play|Power Toggle=Off. You may need to insert a delay between the two commands.

I have not yet seen a cable box with discrete power commands. Leave it on all the time and don't program the power toggle (so no one can turn it off). They consume about the same amount of power On OR Off, so there is no material economic consequence.

Maybe the Mitsunbishi VCR has discrete power commands. Go to files|Pronto|discrete|Mitsubishi|VCR paste the Pronto hex for On and Off into Pronto Edit, create a ccf, and then IIUC you can convert a ccf file into the MX-700 format with it's editor.

If that doesn't work try the same work around as the DVD.

To expand on what Jon said, most Mitsubishi VCR's have discrete power commands, if you have the Pronto hex data, you will need to create a Pronto file with a button for each code you want to use(if you have a .ccf file, skip this step). Just a generic .ccf will suffice. Make sure you do name each button and every command in ProntoEdit. Save the .ccf file and close ProntoEdit. Open the MXeditor and use the universal browser feature to open the .ccf file you created. From here, you can drag an drop each command one at a time to wherever you want it in your file without making changes to existing codes.
