nevo is introducing new remotes at cedia,
ive been hearing about them for sometime
but finally got a spec sheet today.

they are low end remotes,
really cute . . meant to go up against the mx450, mx810, and harmony remotes.

they are wizard based with rf and look promising for quick setups , low budget situations, kitchens, etc . .

i really like the look of them for the low end,
but ofcourse it all comes down to software so we will see . .

one thing is for sure, the price point is really great.

the point of this thread?

one of the specs for one of the new remotes (the nicer one with a charging cradle and touch screen) is compatible with directv rf . . so it can control a directv box via its built in rf control. .

i find this little feature quite impressive.
i might never use it . . but i feel like ive heard the question sooo many times,
can your rf remote control my rf directv box - and i always thought of it as an obvious no. cause it always has been . .
i think they deserve a point or two for adding in this feature.
again, might not ever get used . . but i think its a first..

on a separate but related note,
has anyone seen the mx5000 with haptic touch screen,
looks very interesting . .

looking forward to cedia

UEI who builds Nevo also builds DirecTV remotes.

That is a great solution for 99% of the people that don't understand how proprietary RF remotes work!

I wonder how much it cost for them to pull it off?

It might be worth looking into.

The MX 5000?

I think I'm going to buy one to check it out!!
Every day is a good day.......some are just better than others!

Proud to say that my property is protected by a high speed wireless device!

makes sense ..
but its interesting because on their higher end remtoes they use zwave to communicate, are they using a totally different RF for the low end remotes.

It's pretty slick. All the 2-way the MX6000 can do. The pictures don't do it justice.
