Are the Speco DVRs accessible for viewing on an iPhone? I have not used these units, but a client owns a TN series model and would like me to add cameras and some integration. I have not offered this as a possibility but i know he has an iPhone and would love it.

I think it's windows only. It uses ActiveX, I wouldn't think the IPhone can

i contacted them about a year ago to integrate their hardware into our apps and got the runaround so i assumed they were doing something already but maybe not.

i have an a/v friend who gave me a contact to their in house dev department and will contact them to see if there is interest now or if they will have something coming out. i would think by now they are working on something though but let's see.

You could always use a video encoder for the specific channels.

twilo123 - very cool site, i just spent a few minutes checking through and was very impressed. It would be very cool if you were able to do something with their dvrs for iphone control, they really need it. I was checking my clients address and it was a pia at first with the active x control stuff.

Sound.Sd, like i mentioned in the other email we support video encoders as a work around. The method will work with any dvr in the world including speco but obviously there is an extra hardware cost to make it happen. If you email support directly off the website i will send you detailed instructions along with encoders we support for any of your clients who want to use the method. It works every time; just a matter of extra cost.

Thanks for the compliment on the website. We will have a couple of new apps coming out this year so check back from time to time.

I have been tracking which NVR/DVR support true integration via ethernet/rs232. Dedicated Micros has stopped supporting it on their latest versions. The two remaining NVR/DVR platforms that support proper robust integration are:

ICrealtime (does not yet support ip cameras)
Milestone (insanely integratable, but it is software that runs on a windows PC).

If anybody else is aware, please let me know...

For Everfocus we now support the Paragon, Paragon264, & Ecor264 on Iphone/Itouch/Ipad and Android. Video is hard coded to 320x240 from the demos we have been able to test against online though. Not sure if this is an option on dvr to change the size or it is hard coded. on smaller phone screens this is fine but on larger screens like Ipad this is not a great picture when stretched on video scaling.

iphone everfocus demo video here
cctv video starts around 4:30.

Twilos apps look great.
That being said, a cheap way out is to hook up a sling box to the dvr and download sling software for iPhone.

See the links for installation instructions for Iphone/Touch viewing on Speco DVRs.

We use the Droid and have set up systems and can access them on the Droid.

I have installed the Speco TL series and my clients do access their cameras from their Iphone. It is limited to looking at 1 camera at a time, but it works pretty well

Can I ask what frame rate and resolution you use when setting up the 8TL and 16TL? Also, suppose you are using the 16TL with only 10 cameras. Does each camera get a higher possible max frame rate than if you were using all 16 cameras? Thanks.
If it's not simple, it's not sufficiently advanced.

Anyone know the story with ICRealtime's NVR? I am looking at deploying a Speco 4TL with an Axis video server, but am thinking about going with an ICRealtime NVR instead. Would love any feedback on how these two solutions would compare.

Application is a residence with 2 outdoor cameras and one indoor camera. Solution will need to integrate with Control4 and be accessible from an iPhone. Thanks.

Speco has some of the worst 3rd party integration.. Their mac software is horrible.. yes mr client you need to enter in this ip address and port number every single time you want to look at your cameras. Their windows software is nice but the web browsing software as others have said requires active x.

yes mr client you need to do a bunch of work arounds to make your cameras show up on any of your cell phones..
