Has anyone tried the 8x8 A/V matrix switcher from MCM Electronics? Seems like a hell of a deal @$349.00. It does not have IR remote, only RS-232. I don't know the codes for the switcher and can't get a call back from MCM's tech support after numerous attempts. Are the codes published somewhere?
I am reluctant to try one if the manufacturer doesn't provide the codes. Although I very experienced as an installer, I am somewhat new to using RS-232 and don't feel comfortable trying to figure it out for myself. If anyone knows this switcher , I would love to hear your opinion and find out if they provide the codes. I plan to use Xantech's IR to RS-232 interface--what do you think? Are there more cost efficient ways to convert? Okay, I am starting to ask too many questions. I would appreciate any wisdom from you seasoned RS-232 installers, or from anyone who has used the switcher at all. Stew
