Has anybody had any experience with the Radio Shack in-ceiling speakers? I'm interested in whether they'd be any good purely for background music.
Cheers.

Radio Shack in-walls:
Pros:
Cheap as hell They sound alright They don't say Radio Shack or Optimus on the grille You can go out & buy them on a Sunday afternoon
Cons:
Your dignity Your conscience
Prognosis: Sure, use them. Just don't tell anyone. Especially us. ;)

Just don't tell anyone. Anytime the pros and cons for a product sound like what might be written about visiting a prostitute, it's a good sign you don't want to buy the product :-). This message was edited by QQQ on 10/25/03 02:01.

hey, they're better than Bose! I thought of that earlier but decided that was like bragging "my crap stinks better than your crap". p.s. John, don't take it personally, we're just having some fun. I've never heard Radio Shack in-walls so I can't comment. Then again I've never had sex with Rosanne Barr but I don't think I'd want to.

so they're fat, ugly AND loud??
definitley not bose then...
you know what though...you can buy replacement bose drivers at Radio Shack....so maybe they ARE the same thing!

P.S. you ever notice how EVERY thread on RC that hinges on ANYTHING relating to marginal sound quality always ends up with Bose in it somewhere?

Bose the Fram Filters of the Audio world. Oops, how many of you use Fram filters.
Can you name another oil filter company that advertizes as much as they do?

The best thing about bose speakers is the advertising.
Every time I hear the word bose I have nightmares about some crazy installer, installing in every corner of some victims house a truckload of bose acoustic wave radios (which he purchased from Paul Harvey).
I think I need to go to post bose counseling
Good day

Anyone who buys three-way speakers with 5" or smaller "woofers" doesn't understand speakers.
