Has anyone out there worked with or installed one of these new Scientific Atlanta Explorer cable boxes? Does it have HD capability? Does it have VOD? What are its outputs? Anyone with info (functionality, discrete commands, RS-232, quality issues, anything) please respond.

I live in OKC and the Scientific Atlanta boxes here do not have HD capability (IKC does not have HD yet) no VOD (button is there) one composite out,1 s-video out, 1 RF out, 1 digital coax out, no discrete commands (on, off) they tend to run hot, so be sure to ventilate, no other problems except that it is cable. I have noticed that the analog channels look worse thru the box than if the box is totally bypassed. Kev

My brother has the SA2100HD box it has composite out and digital audio outs. They are broadcsting I think 5 stations in the 700's. They are coming out with the 3100 series box soon and there is a two week to two month waiting list and a special number to call to get on the waiting list.
