Just received the first shipment of the line and setup a nice retail over the counter package with 34"tube HD and small all in 1 5.1 theater system. After setting up I noticed that the remote codes are universal for the television and the all in 1 piece which normally would be great, but the Sceniums have built in DVD player and the All in 1 has a DVD player. When you hit DVD to switch the receiver to DVD the television flips to the internal DVD. At that point you have to cup your hand over the remote to get the television back to the original input. Not a very professional solution to present to customers. I thought of using the televisions internal DVD which does have a optical out, but the All in 1 only has 1 input which eliminates the possibility of hooking in digital cableor satellite. Has anyone else run into this or come up with a solution for the problem? I called RCA and they simply said they never ran into it. Which in my eyes means engineer team A designed TV engineer team B designed all in one and never tried using them together. Well it looks like another engineering snafu that turns into a big crap sandwich for retailers. Now I have to entertain telling my customers that if they buy an RCA TV don't even think of linking another RCA product in same system.

One thing I have learned in this industry. It is easier to pull a wire than it is to push one. |
