Can you feed two IR receiver signals into a distribution block, using a 'Y' cable for example, for improved overall results?

Thanks,
Rick

many IR blocks have 2 different inputs, one being an 1/8" plug, the other a 3 pin multi connector.

The Xantech block is one that comes to mind here (sorry, I can't remember the part number off the top of my head)
We can do it my way, or we can do it my way while I yell. The choice is yours.

Yes. There are times when you can benefit from using two different types of IR receivers. As long as the pwoer supply can furnish enough power(two should never be a problem)

As has been mentioned you can, on most ir systems, run more then one receiver if the power supply can handle it. I was wondering if you want two located together since you wrote "to imrove overall results" This should not be necassary. If the one is not working as you think it should you may have another problem. However if you want to add another receiver in a different location for conveneince that should work fine.

During the developement of plasma proof IR receivers it was beneficial in two cases to combine an Audioples Stealth prior to rev. 47 with a Xantech dinkylink(the non plasma friendly variety to get a system working. Usually there is no benefit but you need to keep an open mind because things have a way of demanding creative non standard solutions. IR still has some craft aspects to it. It's not always a science.

The complete answer is an enthusiastic YES and a shouted NO! DON'T DO THAT!

As Bob Dole once said, Depends.

What the heck brand(s) are you using?

A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.
