Working on new construction for client who also has homes in Aspen and in Cabo. They want to receive voicemail from all three homes into common box, and would be happy if they could all be converted to email. Anyone done this?

The Cabo house has Vonage, which they love and want to expand to other houses. I argued that a hard-wired line is required at each house for alarm, DirectV connection etc - which they agree.

Also desiring to view live/recorded cctv of each home, which is just a DVR IP; not terribly relevant to the above, but thought I would include in the conversation.

I have been selling Panasonic KX-T since the 80s and currently sell nothing but TDA. But I don't do commercial, and frankly have not been keeping up with much of the telecom stuff. Could use some advice please.

Thanks,
Bill

I couldn't tell you how we do it because I never use the feature, but we can record phone calls & voicemails and send them to our email right through our phones. We also have faxes come in to a mailbox and can either be printed from the fax or from your Outlook. There are a ton of other features, but I'm hardly ever at my desk, so I'm a little clueless.

We have an Inter-tel system.

Contact your rep at my favorite supplier up North from you folks. Thom may not have the answers, but our tech guys certainly can make this work for you.

Panasonic, Mitel and NEC all have options that can allow multiple remote extensions, voice mail and wav file functionality.

Does DirecTV Still require a Phone line? I was under the impression that all the phone line stuff went to network some time ago.

Alarm system can also be run Cellular or Radio.

I havent had an analog phone line in my home for over 2 years now.

There are tons of companies that do this for cell phones. I would think that they could do the same for any phone number. All you do is forward your missed/unanswer calls to them and they e-mail you it as a wav file. Some even transcribe it.

I use simulsays on my blackberry and phonefusion on android/g1

I would have chosen the Vonage especially since they already like it. You can wire it into the whole house. UPS all the phone and networking equipment if you're worried about no service when the power is out.

That looks like an interesting application. I accomplish most of those features with Vonage, but I like the concept and see the power.

Everything you want to do is old news. As Fred said, give the folks at his favorite distributor a call. As for the alarm portion there are plenty of modules out there for most companies that allow for internet connection, Voip, and cellular if they are in an area that gets service. The easiest way to do this would be to have all calls forward after two rings to a Verizon voice mail and set up visual voicemail to communicate with their outlook.

I was going to start a new post about this, but found this post.

Fast forward 5 years.

Was going to say how much I love verizon visual voice mail. I get my voice mails sent to text on my galaxy s5. I have customers whose voice mails just annoy the shit out of me, and this takes their tone out of it and make it so much easier to want to get back to them.
Hey, careful man, there's a beverage here!

Considering I post once a year, surprised to see my name pop up.
